Visa processing takes not less than ten (10) working days.
Please note that each express service attracts a cost of CZK 500.00.
Validity and residence period
A single entry visa for entry into Ghana is valid for thirty days, i.e. the visa expires if not used to travel within thirty (30) days from the date of issue. However, the actual period permitted for stay in Ghana shall be endorsed by Ghana Immigration Service at the point of entry into Ghana.
Special note for multiple entry applicants
Multiple entry visas endorsed for six (6) months, for instance, means that the applicant is granted unlimited entries into Ghana within six (6) months of the date of issue of the visa. On each entry into Ghana, the period of permitted stay will be endorsed by the Ghana Immigration Officials at the point of entry.
Requirements for visa applicants
- Should either be of Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Macedonian or Slovak Nationality or legally resident in any of the afore-mentioned countries.
- Should have a valid passport with expiry date at least six (6) months from the date of application for visa
- Should submit one fully completed set of application forms (4 copies) as follows:
- Fully completed in Block Capitals – in English
- Four (4) Recent passport size photographs
- Prove of financial support
- An international certificate of vaccination for yellow fever
- A return ticket or a flight confirmation statement from an acknowledged travel agency

Application should be submitted with a letter from your firm guaranteeing your stay in Ghana and stating the reasons for your visit in English in addition to an invitation letter from your business partner(s). Two (2) references from Ghana are required. Please supply the names and addresses and telephone numbers of your business associates and their companies as your references in Ghana. A Hotel may be used only as a second reference.
Names and addresses of two (2) references required, one of which could be the Hotel where you would be lodging. Please provide also a confirmed reservation from the hotel where you will be lodging.
Application should be accompanied by a letter from your college administrator or your professor stating the reasons for your visit and your financial means whilst in Ghana in English. You should provide a letter of acceptance from the institution to which you will be attached during your studies in Ghana. Please use the name and address of the institution in Ghana as your reference.
Application should be submitted with an employment contract and proof of grant of employment quota in Ghana. Two (2) references are required, one of which should be the company or organization you will be working for whilst in Ghana.
Visit by road from a foreign country
Applicants should travel with the following documents: (an international driver’s license, custom’s entry permit for the vehicle, a bank guarantee or an international insurance covering the repatriation of applicant should the need arise).
The Embassy issues two types of transit visas namely, the single and multiple entries. However, Ghana Immigration officials at your point of entry have overall jurisdiction.
All visa applicants must have international vaccination cards against yellow fever (Ghana observes health regulations for immigrants as prescribed by the World Health Organization. Practically though, it is necessary for all persons entering Ghana to be vaccinated against yellow fever.
Visas by post – registered mail only
Visa applications by post will be accepted and processed only if sent by registered mail and all relevant documents are enclosed (see above). A self addressed stamped envelope should be provided by the applicants if they wish to have their documents sent back by registered mail. However, Mission does not take responsibility of any incident eg. lost or damage of document in the course postage. Applications by post are not considered as priority.
Consular fees paid are non-refundable to the applicants.
Consular fees paid does not guarantee the issuance of visa.
The Embassy is not obligated to provide any justification for the rejection of an application.
Authority note should be given to person(s) picking-up visa(s) on behalf of applicant(s).
